Become a Member
Membership is the driving force behind everything that CAT does. As your Oregon's Tenant Rights organization, together we are building a movement for housing justice that impacts 1.5 million renters across the state. There are two options to become a member of CAT paying dues or volunteer as a ‘working’ member; both are equally valuable. Come join us in the movement for Housing Justice!
MEMBERSHIP HAS ITS BENEFITS!
Power Membership (Oregon Tenants)
What does it mean to be a Tenant Power member with CAT? Membership with CAT lasts for a calendar year from the date you sign up. CAT is able to provide the services you need because of your support and the support of members like you:
Receive priority call-backs on our hotline: CAT's Renters' Rights Hotline gets hundreds of calls a day. CAT Members who call our Renters Hotline go directly to the front of the line to get called back first.
Come to our Annual Membership Meeting (October 26, 2024) to vote on leadership and help guide us: CAT Tenant Power members vote annually on CAT's (majority tenant) Board of Directors.
Get valuable hands-on leadership training and education.
Share your experiences at the local and state governments to strengthen our rights.
Vote on CAT's legislative agenda - deciding what to prioritize as we work to put more tenant protections and opportunities into Oregon Tenant/Landlord Law and state, regional and local policies and ordinances and budgeting decisions.
Participate in Membership Focus Groups to advise the organization in program development, legislative content, community engagement, and other elements of importance to CAT's success and future.
Vote on CAT's 3 year Strategic Plan which is created from member feedback and contributions at all CAT events and in all our programs.
Be a part of building a statewide movement for Housing Justice in Oregon!
