CAT Recognized by Call to Safety 2020 Visionary Awards

This month, CAT was honored and excited to be awarded the 2020 Visionary Award by Call to Safety. CAT has been working with Call to Safety to bring services to tenants who have been survivors of domestic violence.

"As a domestic and sexual violence agency, we at Call to Safety understand the need for survivors to be able to access safe and affordable housing after experiencing violence. CAT has been a resource we have used through our crisis line and direct service advocacy in order to help empower survivors to understand their housing rights and remove barriers that keep them from relocating. We know there is a huge need for housing in Portland and along with experiencing violence the folks we work with also are navigating discrimination and other unjust housing practices by landlords and property management companies. Being able to connect survivors to CAT's volunteer renter rights hotline and membership program is essential in providing housing resources and education to low income renters in Portland. The work CAT does supporting survivors changes lives."
