Critical Eviction Protection Ends June 30th

Tenants: If you do not turn in your ‘Safe Harbor’ documentation to your landlord by June 30th, at 11:59pm you can be evicted for non-payment. After applying for rent relief from the Oregon Emergency Rental Assistance Program, or one of the 17 Community Action Agencies you should have received proof of your pending application a.k.a. your ‘Safe Harbor’ letter. Turn this into your landlord immediately to make sure you are protected.

We know many of you are still waiting to hear the final status on your applications, but do not let this be a barrier from receiving your legal protections while you still have a pending application!

Also, please note that the Safe Harbor protections end altogether after September 30th.

If you have any more questions about Safe Harbor protections contact us at www.oregoncat.org or call our Renters’ Rights Hotline at 503-288-0130.
